Sustainable
Sea Life
and Seafood

As the world continues to consume more seafood at an increasing rate, it is imperative that we implement more sustainable measures that ensure we can effectively withstand and manage our collective consumption.

What is aquaculture?

Aquaculture is the practice of cultivating freshwater and marine organisms under controlled conditions. It involves the breeding, rearing, and harvesting of fish, shellfish, plants, and other organisms in ponds, tanks, cages, or raceways. This method is used to produce seafood for human consumption and can take place in oceans, rivers, lakes, or on land. Aquaculture plays a significant role in meeting the increasing demand for seafood globally and can help relieve pressure on wild fish populations.
